How Vibe of the City works
  • Your vibe

Tell us the trips you love. Fifteen dimensions, three taps — and you can fine-tune any of them, any time.

  • Travellers with your vibe

The same read that scores cities scores people. Recommendations here come from travellers whose taste you can actually check — not a stranger's top ten.

  • Cities made for you — or not really yours

Every city gets the same fifteen-dimension read, put side by side with yours. No city suits everyone, and we'd rather tell you than sell you.

  • Never a week too early — or too late

Weather, festivals, school breaks, cruise days, local mood — blended into one Vibe Score so you arrive on the right day.

What it's worth to you

Your vibe finds the city. People with your vibe fill it in.

One read of how you travel, across fifteen dimensions. It scores cities for you — and it scores people for you with the very same maths. That's why a tip here comes from someone whose taste you can actually check.

  • Your vibe

    Your taste, written down once

Calm, adventure, food, culture, nature, value, authenticity and the rest — rated once, tuned any time. That's your vibe, and it's the only thing the app needs to get useful.

You describe yourself once, not in every search box.

  • City match

Cities that match your vibe — and the ones that don't

Every city gets the same fifteen-dimension read, then we put the two side by side and give you the number. Where we have no data, we say so instead of inventing a score.

No city suits everyone. We'd rather tell you than sell you.

  • Like-minded

The same read finds your people

The engine that matches you to a city also matches you to travellers. The score is symmetric — you both see the same number — and it stays hidden until a profile is complete enough to mean anything.

    A high match's shortlist beats a stranger's top ten.

  • Ask

Recommendations for the trip you're actually taking

Ask the city — your contacts and the travellers who match your vibe get the question. Answers land in your inbox as places, one tap from the trip they belong to.

Not “best of” anywhere. Your city, your dates, from people like you.

  • Been there

See where like-minded travellers already went

Their visits are on the record and their verdicts with them — what they'd do again, what they wouldn't. Sorted by who actually knows the place: lives there first, then most recently been.

Proof of taste beats a five-star average every time.

  • Timing

And the right day to be there

A Vibe Score for every day, weeks ahead. When the city's week and your people's tips point at the same place, it moves to the top.

The city says it's on. Your people say it's good.

  • Plan it together one shared trip across every city on the route, with seats for people who don't have the app.
  • Keep what you find save, log the places you've already been, collect them, get the recap.
  • This week, not last year City Pulse, opening hours, the local rhythm, the siesta.
Before

You research a place. Strangers' lists, weeks of tabs — then the weather, the crowd and the opening hours decide how it goes.

The good moments were luck.

After

You pick a city that matches your vibe, on a day that's worth it, from places people like you already vouched for.

From gambling on a destination to timing a city.

Why not just ask an AI?

A model can tell you where everyone goes. It can't tell you who travels like you.

We use AI every day — to write, to translate, to explain a score in three languages. We just never let it be the source. Between the model and you sits the part a model can't have on its own.

Anyone can ship this

The answer

Fluent, instant, confident. It's also the cheapest part of the problem, and the only part most travel AI actually solves — which is why every one of them recommends the same square.

The trust layer

  1. Surface

    Reasons you can check

Every score opens into what produced it. And where a city has no data on a dimension, it reads unknown — never a confident zero. An honest gap is a feature.

A model hides its reasoning behind fluency. We show ours, holes included.
  2. Load-bearing

    People whose vibe matches yours

Not “travellers say”. A named person, matched to you by the same fifteen dimensions that matched you to the city, with visits on the record and a verdict attached.

    Example
    • Someone who lives therehigh vibe matchSix tips on the record
    • Someone who just got backgood vibe matchBeen in March · would go again

Ordered by who actually knows the place — lives there, then most recently been. Ask them directly, and the answer lands in your trip.

You can't synthesise someone having been there and liking it.
  3. Signals

Measured for a date, not remembered

Weather for that Thursday. What's scheduled that week. School breaks, cruise days, the season's rhythm, the hours things open. Gathered per city, refreshed, dated.

This is a pipeline, not a prompt — and it's why we can be specific.
  4. Foundation

    One vibe read, three matches

The same fifteen dimensions score you against a city, you against another traveller, and their places against you. One engine, so the three answers agree — and it sharpens every time you save, rate or log something.

A chat starts from zero every single time. This compounds.

It only knows the average

A model learns from what was written most, and what was written most is the tourist trail. It has no way of knowing whose taste is like yours — so it hands everyone the same square, in a local's voice.

No stake in being wrong

Nothing costs a model anything when the place shut last spring. A person who put their name on a tip is answerable for it, and a dated score you can open up is checkable.

No memory of you, or of them

Re-typing who you are each session isn't personalisation — and no amount of prompting builds the other half: a set of real people whose vibe is close enough to yours to be worth listening to.

We use AI. We just don't let it be the source of truth. Your people are.

Frequently asked

What is Vibe of the City?
Vibe of the City is a travel app that reads how you travel across 15 dimensions, then matches you with travellers who share that vibe so their recommendations are worth your time. It reads cities the same way, so you also see which ones are made for you — and which day to go.
Which cities are covered?
122 cities today, and the list keeps growing. Every city ships its own 14-day forecast.
How much does it cost?
Basic use is free. You do not need to sign up to see the daily forecast for each city.
How is the score built?
Two layers. Your vibe match compares a city's lasting character against your travel profile across 15 dimensions. The daily Vibe Score then blends weather signals, the local calendar, public events and cruise-ship movements for that specific day. See "How it is built" for the breakdown.
