Community guidelines
These community guidelines set out what content and behaviour are allowed on vibeofthe.city, and what we remove. They form part of our terms of service. Provider: VIBE OF THE CITY S.L.U., Calle Maestranza 25, 29016 Málaga, Spain — NIF B93847945 — contact: hello@vibeofthe.city.
Who these guidelines apply to
These guidelines apply to everyone using vibeofthe.city — in the app, on the website, and in every feature where you contribute content or come into contact with other people: profiles, photos, tips, comments, trip chats, direct messages and recommendations.
vibeofthe.city is a city-intelligence and trip-planning app. People share places, tips and photos here, plan trips together and message each other about them. vibeofthe.city is explicitly not a dating app: seeking romantic or sexual contact is not what the Service is for, and messages of that kind are not welcome here.
Be real
Use a profile that represents you: your name, or a name people know you by, and a profile picture that shows you or that is yours to use.
Impersonating someone else is not allowed, and neither are profiles run in the name of other people, brands or organisations without authorisation, fake accounts, second accounts created to get around a suspension, or automatically generated profiles.
Respect for other people
Treat others the way you would want to be approached in a city you do not know. Criticism of a place is welcome; an attack on a person is not.
Harassment and deliberate public shaming are not allowed, nor is hate speech or dehumanising content targeting people because of their origin, skin colour, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or other protected characteristics. Threats, incitement to violence, stalking and publishing someone else's personal details without their consent are likewise prohibited.
What you may not upload
Regardless of your visibility settings, the following are prohibited on vibeofthe.city: sexual, pornographic or nude imagery; graphic violence; any content that sexualises, endangers or exploits minors; the promotion of or trade in illegal goods and services, including drugs, weapons and sexual services; scams, investment fraud, pyramid schemes and other financial deception; malware and phishing links.
Content that sexually exploits minors is reported to the competent authorities and results in an immediate, permanent ban without warning.
Photos and tips
Only upload material you took or wrote yourself, or for which you hold the necessary rights. Images pulled from the web, from press pages or from a venue's own website do not belong in your profile.
Photograph places, not people. People may appear in a photo, but they should not be its subject — least of all identifiable strangers who have not agreed to it. Please do not upload photos of other people's children at all.
Tips should be based on your own experience. Paid or commissioned recommendations must be disclosed as such; undisclosed advertising is removed.
Messages
Direct messages and trip chats are for conversations between people, not a mailing list. Unsolicited commercial mass messaging, chain messages and promotion of external offers are not allowed.
If someone blocks you or does not reply, that is an answer. Repeated attempts at contact after a block — including from newly created accounts — count as harassment.
Meeting people in person
If a chat turns into a meet-up: meet in a public place, tell someone you trust where you are and who you are with, and leave the moment you feel uncomfortable. You owe nobody an explanation.
What happens when the rules are broken
We act in steps: first we remove the content in question, then we issue a warning, then we suspend the account temporarily, and on repetition we ban it permanently.
For severe violations we skip those steps and ban the account immediately and permanently. That includes, in particular, content involving minors, threats of violence, stalking, sexual harassment and fraud.
Reporting and blocking
Every profile, comment, photo, tip and city-pulse item has a report action in the app, reachable from the menu on the content itself. Reporting takes a few seconds and is not visible to the person you report.
Every report is reviewed by a human, not processed automatically. Reports about objectionable content are handled as quickly as we can; reports involving minors are prioritised.
You can block anyone at any time. A blocked person can no longer message you, invite you to trips or see your content. Your block list lives under Settings → Blocked.
Appeals and contact
If you believe we removed content or closed your account without cause, write to us at hello@vibeofthe.city. Include your username and, where possible, the content concerned. We will look at the case again and reply to you.
