Historic pilgrimage city with a student heart and a rainy charm

Santiago de Compostela moves to a unique rhythm: mornings see pilgrims completing their journey in Praza do Obradoiro, while the rest of the day the city fills with university life and the bustle of its markets and streets. By night, the old town transforms with a lively social scene in its bars and clubs. You might be surprised by its Atlantic climate; although rain is frequent, the city knows how to embrace it, and you will see its granite streets glisten under the famous Galician 'orbayo'.

Itt erős · Szépség

The city offers great beauty with its UNESCO World Heritage historic center, its impressive Baroque and Romanesque architecture, and many viewpoints with panoramic views, such as Alameda Park or Monte do Gozo. [cite: 19 in prev search, 35 in prev search, 37 in prev search, 40 in prev search]

Itt erős · Nyugalom

To switch off, take a stroll through the peaceful paths of Alameda Park or San Domingos de Bonaval, or find calm in the old town early in the morning. [cite: 19, 22, 25, 35 in prev search]

Itt gyengébb · Autentikusság

Due to the influx of pilgrims, the balance between local and tourist leans more towards the latter in the historic center; for a more authentic experience, visit Mercado de Abastos or explore neighborhoods off the main Camino routes. [cite: 19 in prev search, 35, 37 in prev search]
