Maroween 2026 - Halloween and Chestnut & Sweet Potato Festival
Maro hosts its annual Maroween celebration, blending Halloween with the traditional Fiesta de la Castaña y el Boniato. The event includes parades, trick-or-treat, horror gincana, costume competitions, roasted chestnut and sweet potato tasting, live music by Carmen Soto, and DJ entertainment by DJ Toulalan until 02:00 on November 1st. A special shuttle bus service will operate from Nerja to Maro from 17:00 to 02:00.

A traditional day to honor the dead. Families visit cemeteries. Most shops and offices are closed. Bakeries typically sell seasonal sweets like 'huesos de santo' and 'buñuelos de viento'. Masses for the deceased will be held in local churches.

Art with a Heart - 'Bringing Art and Solidarity Together' Exhibition
An exhibition by the Circle of Solidarity Painters, featuring works by 68 artists. Part of the proceeds from sales will be donated to the Nerja Red Cross. Open daily from 11:00-14:00 and 17:30-21:30.
